Free Music Notes for The Preacher's SonFree Music Review: New label, new songs, new album, new Wyclef Hit: 5 StarsWell it looks like Clef has done changed since he left Sony Music. He sings alot on this record, hardly does rap and when he does, it sounds just like his rhyming words. But I mean that's what he said about this album so besides that, this album is jam packed. The debut single "Industry" didn't really show off that much about what the album was about and it's sort of his rhyming-singing about the Hip-Hop industry these days. A track that really stands out on this album is "Party To Damscus" with Missy Elliott. It's a hot joint with Clef's singing and Missy's fine rap verses, not to mention the Hip-Hop Queen does some singing on the bridge as well. The remix of the track is exactly the same as the original except that Wyclef raps his verses in the track. This album displays many different aspects on life, love and living. An example would be the old-skool styled "Celebrate" which features Miss Lady Marmalade herself, Patti LaBelle and Refugee Newcomer, Cassidy. The song is about back in the days when people would come from the block to have a barbeque and a good time. Two songs which talk strongly about today's reality would be "Baby Daddy" which features Redman and speaks about being a step-father to your girlfriends child and how the men have to put up with it. The other is "Next Generation" which features Scarface and Flipmode member, Rah Digga. The track is about this generation of people and how they live, the lives of kids today, political issues and the pain and suffering of some people. Scarface and Rah Digga spit hot sixteens on this one. A number of tracks on the album Reggae related. From "I Am Your Doctor" with Wayne Wonder and Yellow Man to "Linda" to "Take Me As I Am" featuring Sharissa" to "Who Gave The Order" and many others. There's also Hip-Hop "Baby Daddy" Latin "Three Nights In Rio" Old skool "Baby" R&B "Class Reunion" with Monica and Rap "Grateful" Not to forget some Kompa style on "Party To The Sea" Overall, Wyclef has really impressed me on this album. He's truly shown his grown since his debut with the Fugees. He's not longer a gangsta or thug, he's finally grown himself into a man. Could it be because of his father's passing away? Could it be because of his marriage? Or could it be for the sake of maturity taking over. Who knows? All we know is, THE PREACHER'S SON IS BACK!
Free Music Review: Absolutely GREAT ! Hit: 5 StarsYeah! This album is absolutely great. My favorites songs from this album are : Celebrate, Baby Daddy, Class Reunion, Linda, Take me as I am, Next generation, Party by the sea.As you can see it's almost the whole album. What I really about this album is it's not 100% rap, but "World Wide Hip Hop". I mean you find a lot of different style of music. And what so grateful about this album is it's a life story not Wyclef's but anybody's life, because he sings about everything from partying to school memory, to mistake in life everything and everything. All I can say is GOOD JOB NEG PAM' - KENBE LA - PA LAGE And this one is to T-VICE : BON BAGAY S'ak Pase :)

Free Music Review: Finally an 'ARTIST' in an industry full of 'copy cats' Hit: 5 StarsSIMPLY INCREDIBLE! Wyclef has always been inspirational but, I was used to the hard core, so he wasn't at the top of my list, until now! Creativity, Originality, Multi- Cultural, Inspirational, Funny , Sad, Happy, Insightful...in other words...'The Preacher's Son' has it all. Mr. Clef I would like to shake your hand. Best believe this CD will be in my rotation foe years to come. You can listen to this CD without worrying about all the cursing and enjoy it with your family.I usually don't like albums with a lot of collaborations but Clef shows you how to do it and let the song still be yours. He is truly a musical blessing and a genious in our time. Don't try to compare Wyclef Jean with anyone out there he's an original and music is not suppose to be any assembly line. I will have to go back and get his entire catalog of solo albums to see what else I've been missing. RADIO PLAY THIS CD!! IT'S BETTER THAN THE MOST OF THE TRASH YOU'RE GETTING PAID TO PLAY!!!!! - JQ
Free Music Review: Clef does it again Hit: 4 StarsI was really impressed with this album. It is nearly as good as his masterpiece, Carnival. The CD has a good flow to it, and it doesnt have to make references to guns or gangs, and even keeps the weed out of it for the most part. Eminem made fun of Will Smith for saying that you dont have to "cuss or use drugs to sell an album," but that is truly the case here. When your as talented as Clef I guess its really not a challenge to do so. Again, not quite Carnival, but its much better than Masquerade or Eclectic.
