Free Music Notes for The Preacher's SonFree Music Review: Another 'Clef Record being overlooked Hit: 4 StarsIt's so obvious that Wyclef is the most creative artist in the game right now. But the Billboard Top 100 says that people aren't looking for creativity. "Preacher's Son" debuted at a dissappointing #22, and then dropped down twenty-two spots down in the second week."Preacher's Son" is a drastic improvement from "Masquerade". Tracks like "Industry", "Class Reunion", "Next Generation" and "Who Gave the Order" shows that Wyclef is still the intelligent and politically conscious artist we've all known ever since "The Carnival", while "Party To Damascus" and "Three Nights in Rio" (hottest track on the album) are great dance floor hits. The only problem I had with this album is that we didn't hear much of Wyclef rapping than we have in the past. Most of the rapping comes from the many guest appearances such as Redman, Prodigy, Rah Digga, and Scarface. The only time we hear Wyclef rap is a few bars on the "Party to Damascus" Remix. If you've never bought a Wyclef Jean CD before Preacher's Son, I suggest that you buy either "The Carnival" or "The Ecleftic: II sides 2 a Book" before or while buying Preacher's Son.
Free Music Review: wyclef blows Hit: 1 StarsThis dude is always trying to mix different types a music together and it sucks. I hate is music. He thinks he can sing and he can't. He thinks he can guitar and he can't, if you play then you know what I'm talking about. Wyclef really sucks. He style is so whack. I think he is confused, is he hatian or jamaican. His songs get me confused. Wyclef should have all of his fingers cut off and his tongue removed to stop his pace-maker stopping music.
Free Music Review: The Edge Hit: 4 StarsThe Edge from U2 plays guitar on Class Reunion and that makes it cool enough for me.
Free Music Review: It's A Class Reunion Hit: 4 StarsI admit I have never owned or listened to a straight Wyclef Jean album. Although I have liked songs from him including but not limited to Gone Till November, Staying Alive, Maria Maria, 911, Two Wrongs, and Da Cypher, I have never had the desire to purchase one of his albums. I did like the Fugees but moreso for Lauryn Hill than Wyclef Jean even though his production was unmatched (I thought Pras was wack). So going into this album with only knowledge of the Fugees and the aforementioned songs, I find myself surprised at Wyclef brings to the table. The song with Carlos Santana `Three Nights In Rio' is straight amazing. Carlos Santana = genius. Baby's Daddy w/Redman is also a tight song by a seemingly odd pair. Class Reunion w/Monica is a reflective positive track...one of the more mellow cuts on the cd...of course Monica's voice is as smooth as ever. "Baby" is a great track as many have already mentioned...Clef breaks down the guitar near the end and it is tight...his vocals on the track are sung a way I haven't heard him sing. "Linda" is a nice little laid back cut about a woman gone mad because of cheating. "Next Generation" with Scarface and Rah Digga is again another introspective, life track where Scarface drops a rather emotional verse. Wyclef definitely delivers on this album. If you liked earlier releases this year such as The Love Below, RH Factor, or Erykah Badu's new album then you should definitely checc this one out. 4.5 stars.
Free Music Review: Pretty Good still ain't touching the Carnival Hit: 3 Starsthis Album is easily better than His last two Albums put together but that ain't saying much.Vocally He is cool as long as He is focused on doing His thing.the Missy tracks are filler to me.when he is focused though you get the Talented Cat that showed so much promise back in 97-98.this Album is a Step back in the right direction but I still think sooner or later He has to hook back up Musically with Lauyren Hill&get a Project out again as the Fugees.
