Free Music Notes for 40 Dayz & 40 NightzFree Music Review: Xzibit Solidifies Himself As One Of Hip-Hop's Best... Hit: 5 StarsXzibit's debut "At The Speed of Life" was a pleasing and solid album from the rough and rugged west coast emcee. His sophomore album does the same as Xzibit brings another great album that displays Xzibits lyrical talents to the fullest. The album starts with a great intro with TV clips for a court case (maybe Rodney King, it's kept anonymous) that is going to cause a riot, then you are immediately thrown into "Chamber Music". This song has an insanely rugged beat and Xzibit takes no prisoners. He raps some of the albums best lines: "Clarify, you don't work you don't eat, I repeat You don't eat you get weak, catch a fragile physique Accomplish more in one day, than you can do in a week The X-Man, Wolverine, one swing to make the cut clean". "3 Card Molly" features Saafir and Ras Kass and is a solid song. It's the type of song that will build up your anticipation for the Golden State (their group) album hopefully released soon. "What U See Is What U Get" has a funky beat. "Handle Your Business" sports a nice mixture of intruments, especially the strings, while Xzibit and Defari use it well. "Shroomz" is a funny storytelling song from Xzibit. It uses a beat that a lot of other artists have used similar versions of since (DMX - Bug Out). "Focus" is a great song, solid lyrics and beat. "Deeper" has a great string beat, something that Xzibit sounds really good over. "Los Angeles Times" has a nice Mel-Man (Dr. Dre protege) beat, with Xzibit exposing the downsides of L.A. "Inside Job" is a great storytelling song. Reminiscent of Ice Cube's songs like "My Summer Vacation" or "Once Upon A Time In The Projects". This album didn't have a single song garner industry praise as his first album did in "Paparazzi", but it is consistent throughout. The album never slows up, or drops off. And thankfully Xzibit has dropped using Hurricane G like he did on his first album. I recommend this album to anyone interest in a solid west-coast emcee who breaks the stereotype as he has a rough style mixed with great lyrics. If you haven't purchased any Xzibit CD's yet I'd say "At The Speed of Life" is the best, while "Restless" has the best overall mainstream appeal, and "40 Dayz & 40 Nights" is his most rugged album.
Free Music Review: X TO THE Z! Hit: 5 StarsFirst off My Amazon name is Xzibit. I had heard Xzibits newest work like X,Alkaholik,The entire Restless LP, but i was an idiot to think that was better than 40 Dayz and 40 Nightz. This album is so good because it pleases every type of listener. There some commerical tracks and mainstream tracks, but there are some hardcore underground tracks as well. His delivery and voice are more rough and pleasurable to the ear than on AT THE SPEED OF LIFE. The standout tracks for me are Handle Yout Buissness ( which features the amazing Defari) What U See Is What U Get, Let It Rain, Los Angeles Times, Deeper. This album is a gem and should not be missed.
Free Music Review: Anotha banga dropped by X to da Z! Hit: 5 StarsXzibit is one the strongest names on the west coast righ now, and I'm glad he's getting his props, selling millions of his 3rd LP "Restless" which is very good too, altough sounds a bit commercial but still it's a great cd.'Bout "40 dayz & 40 nightz" what can I say? Well at that time he was an underground kat with a lotta killz and rollin' with da Likwit Crew. The production here is tight, you can listen mad beats, the best tracks are "Card Molly", "Pu**y Pop", "Los Angeles Times" and "Let It Rain". As a matter of fact those r the standout tracks 'cause I only didn't feel "Shroomz"...the beat is wack, Xzibit's flow is kinda tired..he seems tired...very strange. Xzibit is that kind of artist that is always bringing consistent music...I own his 3 albuns and none of them is garbage...He's one of the most consistent mc's in the game right now...He's always spit with passion&fury, I like his flow, his style. But if I have to choose what album is his best, I'll stick with "40 dayz" no doubt..."At the speed of life" is great, but this album is a banga even with "Shroomz" that was a lil misstep...No doubt it deserves 5 stars.
Free Music Review: Xzibit keeps it real Hit: 4 StarsFirst of all I gotta say this album is a 4.5-star release. The reason why I didn't gave 5-stars is the following: "At the speed of life" is better... I couldn't say any dis'-words on this album except my taste. I really like this CD from the day one I've purchased it. Every song is tight except for "Nobody sound like me". My favorites are: "What u see is what u get", "Focus" and "Deeper". But I also like "Chamber music" which has a really good lyrics. BUT!! Unfortunatelly X collaborated with Dre which is a disappointment! Don't do it X! Told: 4.5-stars!
Free Music Review: A rap classic Hit: 5 StarsMost of this Cd is tite and shows xzibits pottential. This shines through most on the track "shroomz". Why people are raggn' on this track is beyond me. It is the trippiest and most bouncn' track I have heard in my life...great sample good lyrics great delivary.
