Free Music Review: Straight classic Hit: 5 StarsXzibit's freshman album is a classic. From start to finish, every track had you noddin your head with tight beats. You had Positively negative, Foundation and Paparazzi that were some all time great hip hop songs. My favorite was Paparrazi. I first heard it in ninth grade and had no idea who Xzibit was. But the beat was one of the best beat's I've ever heard. And the lyrics. Xzibit rips apart all kinds of sellouts who's in this game for money and fame, which I wish he'd still live by that now that he seems to be interested in making music videos in mansions and having show's on MTV. Foundation is a tribute to his new born son and he did it very well. And that beat was just ill, and man, it bumps when you have subs in your car. Get this. This was the real Xzibit, not the phoney you see nowadays, but the real one who spit fire and had mad respect from the pure hip hop heads.
Free Music Review: Pure Hotness On A Disc Hit: 5 StarsXzibits first album is f**kin awesome, its an album you can listen to all the way through and not skip one. The beats and his lyrics are both great, my favourite tracks include At the Speed of Life, Eyes May Shine, Positively Negative, Foundation, Carry the Weight, Bird's Eye View and Paparazzi where he raps about rappers that are only in the game for fame and money which makes me angry with Xzibit because now you see him in videos with 50 Cent, who is only in the game for fame and money. Apart from that this album is a banger, Paparazzi and Foundation both deserve to be in a rap fans collection as does this album so cop it.
Free Music Review: Xzibits' gem Hit: 5 StarsThis is Xzibits best album along with 40dayz and Nights....
All the tracks are put together nicely ....There is no filler here at all ...X rips every beat to shreds covering a wide range of topics....The standout tracks in my opinion are "paparrazi" and "foundation"...both are unbelievable tracks that never grow old
Free Music Review: Nice!! Hit: 5 StarsXzibit's first album is great. He sets the standard higher for underground rap. He is a lyrical wizard and has a tight rapping voice. He does not follow the commercialized conventions of rap. He is a Westcoast MC who sees no beef between the West and East (for this album came out in 1996, the height of the so called "coast battle"); in fact, most of his beats sound similar to the hardcore East Coast beats of the mid 90's, but with his own witty twist. He is intelligent and well spoken, and lets it be known that he will be around for a while.
