Free Music Notes for RestlessFree Music Review: Plummet Hit: 1 StarsXzibit's Restless gets worse and worse with each listen. The first time I was a little generous on this album and it received three stars. But now going back trying to listen to it...it just aint hittin on nothing. This album is complete garbage. I had so many high expectations for this album...but am extremely disappointed. There's only about three good songs. Xzibit's aggressiveness and lyrical prowess is nowhere to be found, the beats are too commercialized and poppy sounding...it just makes me want to throw up. To me this is the equivalent of Faboulous' album, in terms of wackness...and I wouldn't recommend it all....not even to burn it from a friend. His other albums are exponentially greater than this trash...Lets just hope his next album `Man Vs. Machine' is nothing like this. Don't buy this...and avoid it all costs.

Free Music Review: Xzibit Battles Underground Cred. with Mainstream Success Hit: 5 StarsOn "Restless" Xzibit treads into new waters as he is breaking through with the mainstream fans. However, anyone who knows Xzibit as an emcee knows (and wants) him to keep his street credibility. Xzibit's first two albums were not mainstream hits, but garnered him recognition as one of the best rappers in the business. He lacked publicity and superstar production that could take him to the next level. "Restless" is an outstanding album that I think is one of the only albums that mainstream fans will like and Xzibit still protects his roots and shouldn't lose any of his original fans. First things first, this is one of the best produced albums the west-coast has seen. The producers and beats are top notch. Rockwilder's production on "Front 2 Back" sounds like a Dr. Dre beat on steroids. It is so amped up that it will get anyone's head nodding. Dr. Dre's production is nothing short of amazing. "U Know", "X", and "Best of Things" are 3 great tracks. "Best of Things" is one of both Dre's and Xzibit's best songs ever. Erick Sermon's production on Alkaholik is mind blowing and Xzibit and the Liks bring one of the years best songs. "Kenny Parker Show" is a great old-school tribute song. KRS-One speaks on the song. One of the albums few and limited disappointments as I would like to hear these two guys on a track rapping together. "D.N.A." is a seriously funky song that will grow on you. "Don't Approach Me" with Eminem probably should've been on an Eminem album, but either way it is a great song and we should be happy that we get to hear these great rappers create such a good song. "F*** You Right" is a funny misogynistic song and the concept is quite original. "Get Your Walk On" is yet another outstanding song where Xzibit creates havoc on the mic yet again. Mel-Man's beat is so good, you'll be left wondering when he'll start producing more on his own. "Sorry I'm Away So Much" is a great song from Xzibit to his son. The only downside is that Xzibit is so good on this song that I wish DJ Quik and Suga Free weren't featured guests. "Loud and Clear" ends the album on a great note as Defari, King T, and Butch Cassidy are featured on a great song that calls out all other rappers and shows that Xzibit is still willing to take anybody on. Xzibit comes through and creates a near perfect album, because it is one that anyone can enjoy. Whether you're a underground listener or MTV watcher this album has something for everyone. High-profile producers make this album full of the top beats and Xzibit uses them well as his lyrical content has kept its rawness. This album is a benchmark because even though Xzibit's fanbase has expanded, his music and lyrics haven't changed.
