Free Music Notes for Le PhareFree Music Review: Mix of sounds a great experience Hit: 5 StarsThis CD as well as the others played by Tiersen show how good music can be written and played, using classical or non popular instruments, and yet, sound actual and passionate.
Free Music Review: Le Phare Out Hit: 5 StarsThis cd is a very good place to start if you're looking for more music from Yann Tiersen. Almost all instrumental, three vocal tracks, this album is not completely the same style throughout as Amelie was, but is obviously related. If you're looking for something similar to that, this has it in spades. But, songs like the third Track, Monochrome, which does have vocals quickly became one of my favorite tracks, it has that bittersweet buildup going on that hooked me to begin with.
This is somber, celebratory, joyful and sad all at once. Lots of accordian, string arrangements, guitar, drums, piano, etc. highly recommended.
Free Music Review: more cool music for amelie soundtrack fans Hit: 5 StarsThis is a great album (tracks 4,6 are also in amelie). It's filled with atmospheric/romantic nuances of melancholy and reverie. Sounds of the accordion, violin, piano, toy box and bells(?) complement eachother beautifully. 'Monochrome' is my favorite track. Rue de cascades is also good (more upbeat/less somber), but I like Le Phare better.
Free Music Review: Better? Impossible... Hit: 5 StarsI've never heard music with so much in it. Just close your eyes...Can you see the ocean, the boats and the Brittany coast? How, boy, I'm starting to feel homesick!
Free Music Review: pleasantly impressed Hit: 5 StarsThis album is similar to amelie in the fact that it is charming and sweet. His voice is only on 3 tracks, which I think is bonus due to the fact that it is average, yet sweet. I love the music, and highly recommend it for those who fell in love with amelie. Le Phare definately will put a smile on your face, and a tear in your eye at the same time.
