I purchased this after learning that Yann Tiersen was responsible for the Amelie soundtrack. I love this CD. Tiersen's music is reminiscent of Satie but is also creative and original in it's own way. The result of Tiersen's work is simply beautiful and amazing. Lovers of interesting and creative music will appreciate Tiersen's emotion and technique. There are actually four songs on this CD that are used in the film plus the theme song from "La Vie Rev?e des Anges." But that's just the beginning!From the simple but haunting melodies of the 3 "comptines" to the Celtic undertones of "D?j? Loin" and "C'?tait Ici" he has the ability to transport you into his world. The visual images that come to mind while listening to "La Chambre" and "La Fen?tre" are that you are actually in his room looking out over his Parisian neighborhood!
This album (1996) is pure Yann Tiersen genius at his best.
