I own about 10 Yanni CD's/cassettes; I've appreciated his music for years. I was worried about purchasing Ethnicity because I generally prefer just the music. BOY AM I GLAD I GAVE THIS CD A TRY! Ethnicity is thrilling. It's got a blend of Native American, African, Irish, and Asian sounds that mix powerfully with the instrumental pieces. Most of the tracks don't include "words"--they're rhythmic vocal arias. Unique.Be prepared to close your eyes, to smile, and to maybe take a twirl about your living room!

Generosity is not supposed to be forced-this is easily one of the worst CDs from one of the worst artists! I remember seeing him advertised on TV and wondering if he was dead and feeling sorry for him. I feel sorry for his producer! I bought this album a while back and was very dissapointed with how it sounded. It did have his relaxing keyboards but it also had too many vocals and they were drowning out his music. I want to listen to an album that has no words and very relaxing music. Vocals ruin the album altogether. Especially when a young girl is singing. He could've done a much better job. I read a lot at night, and I need some music to set the mood.I also write a lot, so I need some songs to fit the scene. No matter what, I can always count on Yanni to have a song for me.
Whether it's a sad scene, or a fight scene, or a love scene, I can always have a song to fit it. Yanni, if you are reading this, thank you for all of your inspiration to me!!
