I have always known "of" Yanni, but I truly got to hear his music on a PBS special and fell in love with his music. What a production and yet I haven't seen anything top it. I like all the detail put into the album with the violin and all the rare instruments. If you like Enya or Ryan Farish, you will love Yanni.Free Music Review: Pretty Good

I am not a regular fan of Yanni; my tastes usually skew toward R&B. However, I was browsing at a local Borders and heard the song "Nightingale" on a compilation CD, "Pure Moods" I think. I felt that that song was absolutely beautiful, so I searched for the CD with that song on it and found "Tribute". I found the rest of the CD to be satisfactory, so I purchased it. I find ths album to be great when my mood calls for a soaring orchestral performance. Being a fan of gospel and R&B, I must say that I was unimpressed by the couple of tracks that featured vocal performances, but the instrumental tracks were well done. Having now listened to this CD repeatedly, my opinion is that the highlight of this CD is "Nightingale" with everything else being attractive aural garnish. Not bad on your plate, but eat something else with it.Free Music Review: Pretty Good

Hopefully that title isn't misleading. It is not to say that I didn't enjoy this CD very much. I'm still enjoying it in fact! This was a slightly different Yanni than I'm used to seeing. Definitely recommended to any Yanni fans. If you're not a fan and just want to try him out. . . might I suggest "Live At The Acropolis". This is pehaps the best album that Yanni has come out with. I first fell in love with him when I saw him on KCPT doing a concert. The concert was of this cd and i just had to have it. At that time i did not know about Amazon.com so i wondered around aimlessly looking for this cd and finally foun it at a music store in the local mall. Thank God!!! This cd id awesome and should be bought by every Yanni fan on the planet! I higly reccommend this cd!
