Free Music Notes for Show Your BonesFree Music Review: Yuck Yuck Yuck Hit: 1 StarsI hope who ever produced this album contracts Ebola. Although the disease itself kills too fast (thus there has never been a severe outbreak), knowing that their flesh will rot off their body will give me some comfort after enduring this trash. Every catchy hook from the 80's is tossed into the blender here and spit out without any type of imagination. Karen O's voice is so electronically manipulated it almost sounds like she can sing. There isn't one song on this disc that is memorable. God I hate it. AND, I love the YYY's (more specifically Karen O) and have seen them live a couple of times.
Free Music Review: "We're gonna keep it in the family" Hit: 3 StarsWell what to say, Fever To Tell was a triumph of loud, brash, lower-fi music, and Show Your Bones has seen some dramatic evolution in the downtime between albums.
I'd like to say that what they're doing on Show Your Bones is good, it's just not the direction I'd hoped they'd evolve. If you're looking for the powerful vocals, and a band straying towards a more subdued and frequently (at least partially) acoustic sound. By all means pick up the album. But, as someone has stated earlier, if you're looking for more of the same, you're probably best off looking elsewhere.
Free Music Review: AWESOME!!! Hit: 5 StarsI just got into the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and loved them right away. I got Show Your Bones, and absolutley love it! It's sweet! "Gold Lion" and "Phenomena" are two of my favorite songs off the album. Listen to them!
Karen O. is crazy, but I love her style, she holds the band together...it wouldn't be the same without her vocals, and high pitched screamin!
I would highly recommend listening to this!
Free Music Review: Not there best. Hit: 3 StarsBut its good. Cheated Hearts and Dudely have to be the best songs on this album.
Free Music Review: One of the best releases of 2006 Hit: 5 StarsYeah Yeah Yeah's follow-up to "Fever To Tell" was one release I had been looking forward to hearing. "Fever To Tell" is raw, rough, and rips through your ears. "Show Your Bones" came with a cleaner sound, and it worked to perfection. This CD instantly clicked with me and has been a regular in my CD player since. Karen O sounds wonderful as always, but Brian Chase and Nick Zinner created outstanding music, even throwing in an acoustic guitar. "Gold Lion" served as a proper choice for the first radio single. "Turn Into" would be this albums break-up verion of "Maps". This is the YYY's slowed down, and it is very good. 5 stars for the NYC trio, check this album out!
