Free Music Notes for TrinityFree Music Review: THE CHILD DEVIANT Hit: 5 StarsThere is something unusually creepy and sophisticated about this particulur artist. If your new to industrial or strictly electronic music, than it is possible that this album (yelworC/trinity) will scare you and leave you feeling uneasy. If you've been around the block a few times, ...you'll probably find yourself wanting to play this album over and over again in your CD player. It's truly quite brilliant....and ultra dark!!!!
Free Music Review: Thru Me Hit: 4 StarsI must admit that this album all around is very complete. Making use of 77:18 minutes, I often find the hypnotic, tribal influenced drum synth produced beats letting my mind ease. This album really relaxes me even though it is heavier. This album is beautifully produced and it is a great piece of work. Note that I am a fan of strict grindcore/ technical / black metal genres. this album indeed is computer based, but it still hits like a sledgehammer. Enjoy!
Free Music Review: 2004's Best electro-industrial album Hit: 5 StarsYelworc's new CD "Trinity" starts off with tracks sounding similar to older Yelworc albums. Dark melodic keyboard melodies, pounding militant/tribal drum programming, and harsh distorted vocals - sounding similar to Wumpscut, SkinnyPuppy or early Haujobb but still with its "Yelworc" type demonic styling's. When track 8 (and yes, this is a nice long CD - you easily get your money's worth) starts up, the pace and intensity of "Trinity" begin to take shape. The album takes on a vast cinematic edge and doesn't let go.The layering and complexity of the second half of "Trinity" are mind blowing. The constant pace changes and stereo effects will leave you breathless. No electro-industrial album released in 2004 can compare. Forget the new 2004 SkinnyPuppy, Wumpscut, or Front Line Assembly albums - "Trinity" tops them all - and that's no small feat. Some people won't be able to stand the brutality of this release - the beats are quite aggressive - militant and tribal in nature - not always dance floor friendly. The vocals are harsh and slow, almost like spoken word poetry at times - quite fitting to the mood and atmosphere the album creates. Top notch production values (for such an underground release) are evident if you play the album on a decent sound system. "Trinity" begs to be heard loud. Buy Yelworc's Trinity NOW!
Free Music Review: A definite acquired taste Hit: 3 StarsYelworC is re-emerging after almost a decade of being out of the scene. What was once a band comprised of duo Peter Devlin and Dominik van Reich, is now a solo comprised of Peter Devlin alone, who still remains as yelworC. The name yelworC is Crowley spelled backwards. Yes, Aleister Crowley inspires this band, and Dante's Divine Comedy inspired the recent CD, Trinity. The symbolism here? I feel that the inspiration of Dante provided Devlin with an outlet to burst out of his cocoon and perhaps this gave him a release of sorts. Either providing the listeners with the idea that it has been hell being away for so long, or "Look out, yelworC is baaaaaaaaaaack!" Whatever the case maybe, yelworC's new album Trinity is definitely hard hitting. The trinity that unfolds here is Dark, deep, and disturbing. Dante would be proud that he inspired such work and creativity. The tunage here will take you on a dark and hellish ride, and it is not for everyone. The artwork on the CD and CD booklet are magnificent. With cartoonish images of what I conceive to be various levels of hell and other various dark art depictions, provided by Ingo Römling (monozelle.de) only adds to the mystery and darkness this album provides. The CD itself, if held in the right light, will show you a magick chart like image. Trés cool! If you are into dark deep and hard sounds and deeply disturbing lyrics, check this one out.I give this album 3 . I could take it or leave it. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't awe inspiring to me either. For this one, I leave you to be the judge.
Free Music Review: Aural Craftsmanship @ It's Finest Hit: 5 StarsBeing a music artist myself, I've become very picky of what I listen to nowadays. For me to like something, especially in the electro-industrial genre, it has to be something really clever and complex. Yelworc's Trinity does the job at gaining my interest. I literally struggle at times while trying to figure out the sequencing arrangements on some of these tracks...it's just that intricately arranged. At the most, Trinity is layers upon layers of very dark/hellish & cinematic soundscapes and apocalyptic industrial breakdowns. The low-key, semi-distorted vocals perfectly contribute to the music, and enhances the overall mood of the album. Trinity gets five stars because it blew me away with it's very intricate and skillful aural craftsmanship. Simply amazing!
