Free Music Notes for Magnum Opus Album

Free Music Review: An OK Album.
Hit: 3 Stars

Magnum Opus is an album I've never paid much attention to. I bought this when it was first released. The production is good, but the songwriting isn't that great. Yngwie plays well as usual, but that doesn't always guarantee good songs. The instrumental stuff is pretty good though. The singer did well on the Loudness album Soldier of Fortune, but has never seemed to fit within the music of Yngwie. His voice just seems out of place a bit. The album has energy, but on the whole there's nothing groundbreaking or very good about this release. Magnum Opus has always disappointed me along with his previous album The Seventh Sign. It's still worth a listen anyway.
