Yo-Yo Ma has brought together some of the most magnificent musicians throughout the world and created a perfect seasonal CD. Each song, as one would expect from Yo-Yo Ma, is rendered so sweet and smoothly. Music is mostly on for background for me but this CD caused me to stop in my tracks. I sat in the waning California sunlight and took in these gorgeous renditions of these classic songs.
Bravo and brava to Yo-Yo Ma and all musicians involved. Perfection.
Humble and grateful thanks from California, which is currently on fire.

Songs of Joy & PeaceYO YO MA and the added artists on this album is absolutely the best...I play this album at least a couple of times a day and sleep with the mp3 and other of his albums each night.
This has to be some of his best work to date...my opinion...Would tell evrybody I know to try this album and it will change any preconcieved notions about classical music...Yo Yo Ma makes classical music enjoyable to all ears!!!!

It's beginning to feel a lot like . . . well, you get the idea. It's a bit too early for us to take a peek into Santa's gift bag, but we couldn't resist one early glimpse. Though the tracks reek of seasonal spirit, this is more a wintery musical mediation, with lots of Big Name guest stars (James Taylor, Dave Brubeck, Diana Krall, Chris Botti) spreading cheer and well, peace and joy, whether you celebrate Christmas, Chanukah, Eid al-Adha or Kwanzaa---or jazz, pop, classical, Celtic, rock or Latin.Free Music Review: Sheer joy for the senses!

The CD is like an audio antidepressant! I have been listening to it since it arrived yesterday. It is almost like world music, there are so many different treats for your ears and mind!
Our favorite, of course, is Happy Christmas, the ukulele duet with Hawaii local boy Jake Shimabukuru. What a stunning piece of musical art that is.
You could listen to this any time of year, as there is only on real Christmas song. Hau'oli!

There is something so absolutely stirring about the cello to me. I love this cd. It has moments of peace, and moments of fun and I could listen to all day for days. I like Yo Yo Ma's friends and I'm very happy they joined him on this cd.
Alison Krauss is simply haunting on the Wexford Carol. Chris Botti is great on the trumpet and even Joshua Redman, I'm not a big fan of the saxophone, but his song is really beautiful.
