Free Music Notes for Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone ComplexFree Music Review: I like the album starting from Inner Universe... Hit: 3 StarsI bought this album for track 11 "Inner Universe"
(which is the track from the opening sequence of the tv show),
and I would buy the album for this one track alone.
As for the rest of the album, I really wanted to like it but
the only songs I found that were good enough to stand on their own
are track 11 "Inner Universe" and track 18 "Rise [TV Size]".
If you want some albums where you can listen to the
entire album (without editing out more than half the album)
I would recommend "Cowboy Bebop" and "Cowboy Bebop: Blue";
they are both much better than this album.
Free Music Review: Hmmm... Hit: 3 StarsWell, the second half of this CD is great. From "Inner Universe" on. Maybe it's not quite half. "Beauty is Within Us" is a particularly moving track. Especially when you listen closely or read the lyrics.
Free Music Review: Great mix of styles. Hit: 5 StarsFrom Heavy Metal to Bjorkesque electronica via the classics and jazz, this is a Japanese album that blends together some of the best ideas from western music into 50 minutes of listening adventure.
Free Music Review: Another great addition to my growing collection! Hit: 5 StarsI've always been eccentric when it comes to my music. So when I have a craving for something outside of the mainstream, I get my hands on stuff that my family and friends would never buy. Anime soundtracks are a recent addition. (If I hear one more singer that's been culled from a reality show I might hurl!)
Anyway...This disc has everything I like rolled into one: rock, techno, angelic voices, foreign languages, you name it. I've been trying to wear out Track 5 - Where Does This Ocean Go (very melancholy), Track 7 - Siberian Doll House (eerie), Track 11 - Inner Universe (the opening theme for the anime), and Track 18 - Rise (which is such a tease! I wish it went on for at least 4 minutes!) Don't get me wrong. I listen to the rest too, but I don't press the repeat button for them and let them play three or four times in a row. Thanks again Amazon for feeding my ears.
To sum it up, this disc now has a slot reserved in my car (along with Samurai Champloo - Katana, which several people have tried to swipe.)
Give it a try. I hope you enjoy it.
Free Music Review: Excellent ***** Hit: 5 StarsEvery song on this CD is great. I would definately recommend it!
