Free Music Notes for Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex

Free Music Review: A brilliant soundtrack for a beautifully imagined series
Hit: 5 Stars

Well the title says it all. I bought the soundtrack after buying Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex. As well as containing the songs in the title and credits (Inner Universe and Lithium Flower respectivly) this album contains a whole range of music used in the series. It varies from a quite mechanical rocky sound to some very smooth mellow pieces. I also quite liked the inclusion of Get9 and Rise at the end, both TV versions so shorter but still very good. I would say that if you found yourself thinking "this is good music" as you watched the series then buy this album. Of particular note (my favourites) are Lithium Flower, Inner Universe, Some Other Time and Velveteen.

Of course this album wont be to everyones taste, but anyone who is a fan of Stand Alone complex will enjoy and appreciate Yoko Kanno's work.

Free Music Review: For the rest of us too...
Hit: 5 Stars

Honestly, I loved the opening segment from Cartoon Network's showing of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex that I decided to track down the album. It was well worth the effort, this CD is awesome! Powerful, Lyrical (still need help translating the Russian), this is a stand-alone-album: great to zone out to, run background while entertaining, and perfect for the extended car ride. Buy this CD!

Free Music Review: Stunning
Hit: 5 Stars

If you're a fan of GITS: SAC then you will love this OST composed by Yoko Kanno.
Kanno is a veritable legend in Anime circles, having composed music for some of the most succesful series around, and this OST continues her fine body of work.
Inner Universe, Lithium Flower, and Run Rabbit Junk are instantly recognisable as being heavily used within the show itself, but it is also nice to see that some of the music which was used only once or twice has been included. Prime example of this being "Where does this ocean go?", in my opinion this is the best track on the CD. The beauty of this album though is that the work is so varied that everyone will find something they like.

Did not like at all. I ordered both of these CD's based on a song that I heard that was beautiful and melodic. It was the only song on both CD's that was that way. The other songs were more mechanical, etc.

Wish I had never purchased either CD. Should have just got the one song off itunes.
