Free Music Review: Good solid record Hit: 4 StarsWell Young buck has really done it this time. This cd falls in line with artist such as T.I., ICP and Run Dmc. I would consider this to be more hip hop than Rap because of the abilty to breakdance to this album. The cd starts off with the song push em back, which is about how Young buck parents got mad at him for getting a C in Eng Lit. then next song smothly goes into the song Say It To My Face feat. 8Ball & MJG and Bun Goes along the lines of him telling a story of how he (Young Buck) once had to eat his broccoli before he left the dinner table and his frineds made fun of him about that. the cd contines with that type of theme. good cd pic it up
Free Music Review: Young Buck - Buck The World Hit: 4 StarsThree years after releasing his debut album "Straight Outta Ca$hville" , Young Buck (A.K.A. David Darnell Brown) returns with his sophomore release "Buck The World" (2007). Outside of being an MC, Young Buck is president and co-founder of Ca$hville Records, which currently includes his group 615 (Hi-C, D-Tay & Lil Murda), C-Bo & the Outlawz. One of my favourite G-Unit solo album's is Young Buck's debut "Straight Outta Ca$hville" so I have been looking forward to his follow up album for some time. In the last years Buck has stayed on his grind, making guest appearances and dropping mixtapes - including some blazing hot joints (IE Do It Myself, Dead Or Alive) that are not included on this album. Young Buck has also had his fair share of drama in the last few years, including a charge of assault with a deadly weapon after he stabbed a man who assaulted Dr. Dre at the Vibe Awards.
"Buck The World" is a seventeen track release (including one hidden track) which includes production from Dr. Dre, Young RJ, Jiggalo, Craig Lane, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Hi-Tek, Polow Da Don, Jake One, Che Vicious, DJ Toomp, Jazze Pha,Vitamin D, Mark Batson, Lil Jon, Tha Bizness, Jake One, G Koop, Key Kat & Eminem. Production is generally on point - their are some memorable beats and forgetable ones. Guest appearances come from a variety of artists, including 50 Cent, Bun B, 8Ball & MJG, Snoop Dogg, Trick Daddy, Dion, Lyfe Jennings, Chester Bennington (of Linkin Park), Young Jeezy, Kokane, La-Toiya Williams, Ky-Mani Marley, T.I., Pimp C & Jazze Pha. Tennessee's Young Buck opens this release on solo with a banger in "Push Em Back". Buck then collaborates with Southern Rap veterans Bun B, 8Ball & MJG talking to the haters on "Say It To My Face". Young Buck then takes aim at fake rappers dropping a warning on "Buss Yo Head" while talking about what happens to snitches on "I Ain't F******* Wit U!" which features appearances from Snoop Dogg, Trick Daddy & singer Dion. Polow Da Don laces the second single "Get Buck" with a banging beat, and Buck rhymes with confidence. The title track "Buck The World" features an appearance from talented singer Lyfe Jennings who provides some soulful vocals in a track which has both artists shining. Young Buck delivers one of the album's most powerful track's in "Slow Ya Roll" telling life & death stories of his family- Buck advises the youngins to live and appreciate life, while Linkin's park's lead singer Chester Bennington provides some background vocals. 50 Cent makes his first appearance on the grimy "Hold On", a thugged out cut. "Pocket Full of Paper" is a bit to lackluster for my liking, not feeling the production or simple lyrics. "Haters" is a decent track which includes an appearance from Kokane (hook). Young Buck then slows things some talking about a love/hate relationship on "U Ain't Goin' Nowhere", while singer Latoiya Williams provides some smooth vocals. Young Buck celebrates being successful on "Money Good" and get's blunted with K-Y Mani Marley on "Puff Puff Pass". Young Buck provides another strong track with "Clean Up Man" then collaborates with T.I., Young Jeezy, Pimp C for a standout in "4 Kings". Jazza Pha provides some trademark production and vocals on the upbeat first single "I Know You Want Me". I can understand why Buck would make this commercially friendly track his first single - musically this is not a memorable track for this reviewer. Thankfully the album's last track closes the album off on a good note. Young Buck rhymes with intensity and a raw flow on the Eminem produced "Lose My Mind". The track ends then 50 Cent closes off the album with the hidden track "Funeral Music", a diss track directed at Cam'Ron. Overall "Buck The World" is a solid album, no sophomore slump here.
Free Music Review: Good stuff. Hit: 4 Stars"Slow Ya Roll" is one of the hottest songs of this decade! It features rock artist Chester Bennington of the band Linkin Park.
"Get Buck" is the first single with a bangin' beat from Polow Da Don ("London Bridge" by Fergie)
Features some good guest artists like Young Jeezy, T.I., 50 Cent, among others.
Production from Dr. Dre, Eminem, Polow Da Don, among others.
Not a classic, but worth the money.
Free Music Review: "Do It Myself" Hit: 3 StarsWHAT HAPPENED TO "DO IT MYSELF"!!!??? I heard that single a few months back and LOVED it! Don't hate me for giving Buck The World a 3 star review because i will be first one to say i love Young Buck's music, and this was a decent album, but it would have been THAT much better if it would have had "Do It Myself". That was a BANGER! I love his music. Every now and then I still bump "Straight Outta Cashville" in my truck to THIS DAY and that was released three years ago! I love Young Buck's music. He is one of my top 5 all time favorite southern rappers. Out of all the tracks you caould've cut from "Buck The World" why did you have to pick "Do It Myself"!? I bought "Buck The World" and LIKED it but did't LOVE it like "Straight Outta Cashville". I was disappointed that "Do It Myself" wasn't on there because that was the best track that counld've been potentialy on there, but it didn't even make the final cut! "Straight Outta Cashville" showed so much hunger for a talented rapper who wanted to be recognized as one of the SOUTH's premier rappers and lyricist. This album, sad to say, comes up kinda short in terms of lyrical creativity and DIRTY SOUTH RAW beat production. Go back to the producers that you had on "Straight Outta Cashville". If you ever plan on doing a re-release with bonus tracks and new songs like many rappers do, PLLEEEAAASSSEEE make "Do It Myself" one of those added songs! Like I said, Young Buck is a GREAT southern rapper and I am a loyal fan who respects his work, but why did you have to cut "Do It Myself" out of ALL the possible tracks you could've cut from "Buck The World"??? That was the best song and it didn't even make the final cut!
