Free Music Review: My least favorite Zero 7 CD
Hit: 3 Stars

I have been a long time fan of Zero 7. While not all songs on all CD's have been great, there has been at least two or three songs on each that were particularly killer and the overall CD has been worthwhile.

This CD has, to my taste at least, little to recommend it. I particularly do not care for the vocalist on the first song so maybe I haven't gotten through the CD enough. If you are new to Zero 7 this is not the CD to buy.

Free Music Review: True fans will LOVE
Hit: 5 Stars

True fans of Zero7 will love it. It's obvios to those of taste that alot of time, passion, and love for music goes into ALL of their work. Thanks guys!

Free Music Review: Uneven but worth a listen
Hit: 3 Stars

I came to Zero 7 somewhat late in the game, when I picked up the Garden State soundtrack. "In the Waiting Line" prompted me to acquire Simple Things, which had a mello modern sound that I really liked. So it was a no brainer to grab The Garden.

Zero 7 comes off the tracks a little bit on this disc, however. For lack of a better word, The Garden is a bit "zanier" than Simple Things. Perhaps emboldened by the success of their last album, the band seems to have taken greater risks on this disc. It works well in some parts, particularly where Jose Gonzalez takes the vocals -- "Today," for example -- but I found some of the other songs cumbersome and reptitive ("Pageant of the Bizarre"; "This Fine Social Scene") or simply unmemorable. This disc has more personality than the last, however, and is worth a listen.

Free Music Review: The Garden
Hit: 5 Stars

That cd is just touching and well made by Zero 7. Zero 7 is awsome and I am your fan also. Thank you for so much.

Free Music Review: pales in comparison to earlier work
Hit: 2 Stars

The only song on ths album I find myself going back to is the instrumental "Seeing Things," and that track isn't even representative of Zero 7. Simple Things is a far superior album with some excellent melodies and instrumentation. The Garden doesn't even come close. There isn't even a "Warm Sound" to redeem things like on the overall mediocre When It Falls. Avoid this one.
