Free Music Notes for Gypsy Music from Hungary & RomaniaFree Music Review: Disappointing Hit: 1 StarsWas expceting authentic gypsy music, music with soul, with passion. What I found, instead, was a big band of violins playing dated standards ala black and white movies from the '60s.
Free Music Review: Passionate! Hit: 5 StarsThis album is beautiful, I hope there is a new geneartion of musicians that can carry on the "FEELING" of gypsy music because that's exactly what it is. I don't only hear it I feel it, when I come across an album that reminds me of the music I heard in restaurants, or music halls in Hungary as a child I tear up. I dream of the day I can return to Europe and enjoy live music again. Until then, this is as close as it gets. Thank you for this album :-)
Free Music Review: Disappointment Ensured Hit: 1 StarsAltho the selections are fine and typical of the robust music associated with gypsy violins, the QUALITY of the recording is abysmal and sounds as if it were recorded by a hand-held tape recorder. Definitely NOT recommended.
Free Music Review: Breathtaking Hit: 5 StarsThe tracks in this CD took my breath away, classical Hungarian music, my favourites are track 9 and track 1, could not stop dancing..awesome... I would buy more copies for friends.
Free Music Review: a meditative spin on gypsy music Hit: 3 StarsGypsy purists won't like it.But if you enjoy classical music also, you may get something out of this. The violin sound does not screetch at you.It dawns on you.So its more a meditative listen.Theres upfront violin and orchestral, with light cimbalom to add to the flavour. The title and cover are poor choices.Because, even though it contains gypsy elements, the music is not as traditional as that. (If a 'hybrid' is what u seek, then u may find it's worth more stars than 'I' gave it).
