Free Music Notes for Zucchero & Co.Free Music Review: Hauntingly beautiful! Hit: 5 Stars
Musical tastes are so different that it is hard, if not impossible, to give a definite opinion about a particular record. If you enjoy light jazzy groovy tunes with some good vocals in English, Spanish and Italian with occasional stronger percussion you will LOVE this record! The big American names accompanying the Italian artist should be a good indication of the quality of the music. Fortunately, Amazon allows us to listen to bits of every track on the CD, so one can make their own mind about it before buying.
I would like to give this record ten full shining stars if I only could ;-)
(The last track 'Miserere' skips on my new CD, I will be looking for a replacement.)
Free Music Review: The Sugar Man Hit: 5 Stars
Sometime ago during either the '94 or'99 Woodstock as the station was going to commercial the cameras turned to the secondary stage for the final song from Zucchero who I'd never heard of.
The song was one of the most raucus yet rocking closer songs I'd ever heard. In 2004 I travelled to Luzerne Switzerland and got to experience this international star as he performed most of the songs from Zu&Co. His live performances of those songs are incendiery. For the proof seek out his dvd performance with all his musical colleages recorded live at Albert Hall in 2005.
Like others have noted,it is a crime he is not very well known in the USA. Oh well,it's their loss!!!
Free Music Review: It's a Shame Hit: 5 Stars
That more Americans don't know about this incredible artist. I am embarrassed to say that I just discovered Zucchero in October. By chance I was stranded with the band in Mexico City and got to know some of them. I was invited to see them when we arrived in San Jose, Costa Rica and I was blown away. I came home and ordered this, and many others, to add to my extensive music library. It is a favorite. Just simply phenomenal that one guy has so much talent that he has other artists clamoring to work with him. This is what is wrong with American radio today. We are being deprived of great music.
Free Music Review: Wow, Zucchero's Voice Is Amazing Hit: 5 Stars
One listen of "Pure Love" and I was hooked! Sitting in an Italian Cafe in downtown London and what I thought was a familiar voice coming from the cafe's speaker turned out to be Zucchero, not Peter Gabriel as I thought. I immediately had to ask the waitress who the artist was. The CD starts out with an amazing duet between John Lee Hooker and Zuccharo - "I Lay Down", you can really feel the emotion in this song. "Muoio per te" sung with Sting (Mad About You) is brilliant. A must buy, a little of something for everyone on this CD.
Free Music Review: As good as advertised Hit: 5 Stars
My new favorite CD. Zucchero himself has an awesome voice. When you add it to John Lee Hooker, B.B. King and others it is truly amazing.
Yes, there is a fare amount of Italian lyrics but I hardly notice while it is playing. At least 10 of the tracks are worthy of radio air play on American radio. There is a little bit for everyone except the head bangers.
It is really amazing the amount of super stars that leant there talents to this CD. You won't be dissapointed.
