Free Music Review: WOW!!
Hit: 5 Stars

First up, I am a big King's X fan and own Dug's "Emotional Animal", which is a good listen. But this record blows me away- a more solid record than the latest KX record-Strong songs, great production and good players helping out. Many songs are divided into two sections the latter being extended studio jams that are not just "filler" quality. The great thing Dug gives us is a unique blend of hard rock/metal and soul that hits just right. Unbelievable singer and musician, with just an incredibly cool vibe. I once described this album as the record I always wanted Prince to make(if he could ROCK!). There are too numerous high points to mention.

Free Music Review: The very best of dUg to date!
Hit: 5 Stars

Wow! This album is amazing. Don't get me wrong--the first three disks spent lots of time in my deck too, but this one just blows away everything dUg has done before. The grooves and the melodies stay in my mind long after the disk is off. And dUg's harmonies are delightful--nothing like hearing 4 or 5 dUgs singing together. Freakin' awesome. The idea of doing "Part 2" jams after some of the songs is genius. I like the way they naturally fade into the jams after the album mix so you don't notice you're into a new track at all. This is just really great songwriting and the best production of any of dUg's stuff. I was solidly blown away.

I have been a King's X fan since I first saw them in 1989. Most of their stuff is superior to virtually anything out there. They are the best live band I have ever seen - bar none! The Ty solo stuff and his side projects have been awesome as well. I LOVE Doug, but have never been moved by his solo stuff - until NOW. This album is AWESOME! It has everything - soul, funk, harmonies, acoustic, heavy, rock, EVERYTHING that is good.

If you are at all a fan of KX or dUg, you will LOVE this album.

Free Music Review: When will this guy ever turn out a bad CD?
Hit: 5 Stars

Doug Pinnick, Ty Tabor and King's X in general put out some of the best music that is little known, and this disc is no exception. I have listened to this band since '88 and every time I think these guys have peaked and won't be able to come up with anything good anymore they make me eat crow. In this album, Doug took the sound he had six years ago in Pineappleskunk and added some more heaviness and flare--the result is a CD that I'm probably getting close to wearing out even though I got it only a month or so ago.

Free Music Review: Heavy cool super rock jam songs!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is really Dug's forth solo album, as he seems to count the two Poundhound albums as solo work too. This though is the most catchy, mainstream, refined, straigh ahead album of just simple catchy great heavy rock tunes of different kinds with strangely a few that continue on a extended jams which is interesting and different. Very cool, some of the best tunes dug may have ever written alongside KING'S X here. Very good solo album and just great album by any rock standards.
