DC talk single handedly created a whole genre of music in this album back in 95 that has since been copied a thousand times over by mainstream secular bands.Their unique blend of R&B vocals with rhythm and rap all fused together with driving electric guitars is unparralleled in the entire music world.
Their lyrics are a whole other story. They tapped into loads of raw emotion, when they analyzed and brought into light all the fears and self doubt that everyone goes through. Especially in high school. Captivating an entire generation of frustrated, scared, timid boys and girls and motivating them into on fire Christians totally sold out for Jesus. If you have heard the album and are not a Christian, all you can do is sit back and wonder in amazement. Who is this Jesus, really? Why not try then and find out who he says that he is in his written word in the Gospels in the Bible? God is standing at the door of your heart and knocking. If you will let him in, he will totally
change your life for better than you could ever imagine. His blessings are so rich: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Gentleness, and Kindness. And don't be satisfied with just a little of these, he's got way more of them than you know.

ok... i've heard some songs from this album long time ago but never bought the album cause i live in indonesia and its kinda hard to find it so i finally order it from amazonhonestly i'm really into rock & metal, i'm big fan of megadeth(i'm glad dave mustaine is christian now),i always open mind to many kind of music i like metal,classical,alternative,japanese,christian music and many others. this album is probably my fav christian album along with petra praise, i also like small town poets & sonicflood
but i still think dc talk espcially this album is the best christian rock album.this album not only got great rock tune but also the slow one.
who said christian music cant sell like other? this album went multiplatinum in US , sold over 2 millions
my fav songs is "in the light" , another key track are jesus freak, coloured people, wht if i stumble
Free Music Review: Great CD...but it's different from their others

It took them awhile to come out with this cd...they now have a different image because it's more rock and harmonic than rap or hip-hop. This is a terrific cd, although, for some reason they have a Mrs. Morgan act that could have been replaced by a song. Most people probably bought this cd because of the song Jesus Freak, but IN THE LIGHT, COLORED PEOPLE, WHAT IF I STUMBLE?, and BETWEEN YOU AND ME are all great songs. I have to admit that I'm a little disappointed because Toby sings less in this cd than in others. This cd also sends a great message, but not quite as good as their previous cds. I have all five of their cds, and this one is probably tied for the best. Plus, all their singers are very talented, but I don't really like the songs "mind's eye" or "day by day". Recommended. This cd is also probably the most popular in Christian Contemporary Music (it sold over a million copies).Free Music Review: The best rockin' christian cd

man, if anyone wants to hear a good christian rap/rock group that is clean, where they don't scream and cuss, this is the one here, not too fast and not too slow. i recommend people buy this cd and they wont be sorry, really!!!!!
