Free Music Notes for Jesus FreakFree Music Review: It just never gets old! Ever! Hit: 5 StarsThis is one of those very rare albums, that you can pop in your player no matter when - and it will take you on a ride every time. I am still amazed by the solidity, quality and insane professionality that this record oozes. To use an overly used cliche: I do believe that this album truly has every aspect in it to be called a classic.Where to start. The arrangement - the harmonies - even the order that the songs have on the album, all of this adds up to a fantastic listening experience. Oh, and how they have grown. Toby, Michael and Kevin. This is the first album where we really get a chance to sample Kevins fantastic and characteristic voice. We got a good taste with "The Hardway" from "Free at Last" though. Ironically enough - it is Toby that struggles the most to keep up vocally with the other two. But you wont notce this unless youre a total freak like me who knows this one by heart. Let me admit this. First time I listened to it in 96' I didnt care much for it. But when I started listening to the whole thing a bit more thorough - it just did the thing that very few albums do: Grows on you. And it kept growing. Its a keeper, a must, an epic. "A freak indeed, but not the type that sneaks"
Free Music Review: Awesome, but slightly disapointing Hit: 4 StarsI owned Supernatural and Free At Last before aquiring Jesus Freak, and sadly I thought it slightly a dissapointment with some really great songs and some songs just on the album as an afterthought. I didn't make for a wonderful listening experience just a great one. Still the song Jesus Freak is totally AWESOME..along with So help me God, Mind's Eye, etc....keep rocking dctalk!

Free Music Review: This is one freaky album! Hit: 5 Starsdc Talk hit it big with "Free At Last" in 1992. That album was one of the best that had ever been made by any Christian group. Many thought that these three guys would not be able to duplicate that success. They were wrong. "Jesus Freak" has sold over 2 million albums since it debuted in 1995, making it one of the best selling Christian albums of all time. In addition, many more people became familiar with the group because of all the airplay many of these songs received on both Christian and secular radio stations. To this day, Christian radio plays more dc Talk songs from this album than all their other albums combined. dc Talk blended a mix of song styles in "Jesus Freak," from rap, to rock, to grunge, to ballad. Unlike most of their previous effort, all three members exercise their vocal talents throughout the album. As with the previous albums, "Jesus Freak" does not skimp on the missage or the words used to convey that message. Although there is no direct abstinence message like there was in "Free At Last," the second track, "Colored People," touches on the often controversial issue of skin color with their typical up-frontness. If you are new to dc Talk, this album is the one to start with. It will give you a great appreciation for the talent of these three guys and will wet your appetitate for the rest of their work.
Free Music Review: The Absolute BEST of dc talk!!! Hit: 5 StarsI first listened to "Jesus Freak" almost six years ago. At first I couldn't believe that these guys were conveying such a positive message through rock music. Later I learned that they also did this with rap music. I listened to the CD more and more and found myself really enjoying the songs. "Jesus Freak" does not throw Christianity in your face and preach at you. It presents itself in a way that everyday people can understand. That way, listeners can make their own decisions about which path they choose to take. I have to commend the members of dc talk, Toby, Kevin, and Michael not only for their vast talent, but for also presenting such an incredible message to Christians and non-Christians alike.Stand-out tracks: What If I Stumble Between You and Me *the best track* What Have We Become Jesus Freak I would highly suggest this CD to any fan of dc talk as well as people who would like to hear music that is not only entertaining, but uplifting as well! You won't be disappointed!!!
