This is a case of an album being less than the sum of its parts. I'm a huge fan of kd Lang, and I've got a couple of Tony Bennett's CD's too. T-Bone Burnett's production and the arrangements are top notch, so the recording sounds lush and beautiful. But for me, the singers don't click. It sounds like kd is holding back something, maybe trying not to upstage Tony, and Tony's voice is obviously past its prime. Old Sachmo had a croaky voice too, but it was his trademark, not the effect of old age.Free Music Review: Beautiful Music

A WONDERFUL WORLD features wonderful, yes, wonderful singers making beautiful music together. Both Tony and k.d. have their own distinctive styles--and each of them is blessed with a voice that defines what a singer should be.Thus, anyone who admires Tony or k.d. will be delighted by A WONDERFUL WORLD. Here's hoping that these two superb entertainers pair up again in the future.

Very well done--good songs, too bad more artists do not release recordings like this. Buy it--you can't go wrong! Hopefully Tony Bennett and K D Lang will do more recordings together in the future.
