Free Music Notes for DragFree Music Review: Absolutely Seductive Hit: 5 StarsSultry vocal through deceptively simply melodies to standard ballads to love songs of loss and absurdity - a wonderful voice wooing the listeners through great production and selection of songs - a real keeper.
Free Music Review: The fallen angel, the heaven voice, the voice of love ..... Hit: 5 Starsk.d. is the fallen angel, deep but pure. Her voice reflects the same fact. I went to her concert in Chicago and bought this CD immediately. There is some kind of charm that you can not resist, which k.d. sctters in the air. That is LOVE. Happy love, sad love, regular love, extraordinary love. Especially in this album that she totally turns to Jazz tones. Track 10 "Smoke Rings" is that kind of song that is so enchanting which lures you to an infinite bittersweetness..... The smokey atmosphere will make anyone that hear this angel voice, helpllesly fall in love ......
Free Music Review: "...I love your peaches, wanna shake your tree" Hit: 4 StarsThis cd has got to be one of k.d.'s best ever! The music, the lyrics reflect on relationships, sexuality, and her personal feelings. She reveals the sensual feelings she has for fellow women. As in the song, "Joker", where the lyrics "ooo i love your peaches, wanna shake your tree" come from...which is my personal favorite. She looks gorgeous as a man or woman, no?
Free Music Review: One of my all-time favorites Hit: 5 StarsAnyone who doesn't acknowledge the brilliance of these recordings is either insensate or downright insane. This collection is pure beauty. I loved Ingénue, but Drag surpasses it by several orders of magnitude. My Old Addiction is one of my all-time favorite songs by anyone, anywhere. If you're put off by the smoking theme or you think it's too cutesy, get over it. This isn't an album about smoking, it's a collection of beautiful sounds that reach into your soul and make you want to cry. If you lack emotional depth, you probably shouldn't get this album, because you won't GET this album.
Free Music Review: This album is far from a "drag." Hit: 5 StarsI love this woman! Why she's not a multiplatinum seller is beyond me, but I can't think of a more underrated pop singer than kd Lang. This album is a nice collection of covers, mostly from the old school. Lang's voice is like a brush of velvet: smooth and luxurious. The musical arrangements are flawless. My two cuts of choice are "Don't Smoke in Bed" and "The Air That I Breathe," which Simply Red would later butcher. If you lost interest in Lang after "Ingenue," then this is the disc to pick up.
