Free Music Notes for WatershedFree Music Review: Very disappointed Hit: 2 StarsI was so excited for this new album to come out as I just love kd's voice and watched her on Jay Leno singing "Coming Home" which to me is the best song on this CD the rest are just blah and boring!... This is her first CD that I have not wanted to play over and over as it just does not pull you in at all. Coming Home is a beautiful song ...Love It! but sadly the rest of the CD does not measure up to it at all and actually wished I had not purchased this before hearing a bit of each song it's so disappointing.
Free Music Review: Beg, steal, borrow tickets to the Watershed concert Hit: 5 StarsHearing and seeing this album performed live (and if you are lucky, in an intimate venue as I attended in Portland, OR) makes this album. I wonder if I might not have had the same experience as the 2- star reviewers if I had not witnessed her in person. I am not a country music fan, but her voice and lyrics just keep me coming back. She is a force the likes of which I am speechless to describe. Buy the album, but see her in person as well. I think it will make all the difference. How many other performers touring today receive a standing ovation from the first note coming on-stage?
Free Music Review: half empty or half full Hit: 3 StarsWhile similar in style to the amazing Ingenue cd, it lacks the depth to make you want to listen to it over and over again. Her voice, as always, satisfies the soul.
Free Music Review: Sad k.d. Hit: 2 StarsHave waited a lot of years for a new k.d. lang CD. She sounds sad, tired and like she is in mourning. Not an up beat on the whole CD. Her voice is still like fine wine, but I'd have to say she needs to perk up her next effort.
Free Music Review: Another winner for k. d. Hit: 5 StarsI love this album. k. d. lang has a wonderful voice and writes a pretty good song when she wants to. "Coming Home" is by far my favorite, but I can pretty much just start from the beginning and listen through to the end and be happy with each song. This is the closest she has gotten to Ingenue, her breakout album. The songs are mellow and lush.
